Suitable Song for this Stellar Saturday

“King Of Diamonds” by Motopony

Motopony is an up-and-coming band from Seattle, WA.  I learned of the group yesterday when my friend Marie posted the video to “King Of Diamonds” on Facebook.  I was instantly taken in by the jazzy percussion and laid-back feel of the tune.  The singer has an extremely unique voice and his lyrics paint a good story in the mind’s eye.  I love the opening stanza of the song: “I’ve been looking for the king of diamonds/But I guess the queen will do/I’ve been looking for the king of diamonds/Till the dealer gave me you”.  We often are looking for one thing in life when something totally unexpected comes along the way and ends up being better than anything we could have imagined.  Such powerful and moving ideas as this, I feel, will make Motopony the new musical kings of the Northwest.
